Note: Begging for friend invite codes is not allowed. We will end up making a special thread at a later time for invite codes.

Hey Folks,

With the announce of Fortnite Mobile, we put together an FAQ to answer any preliminary questions you may have:

 

Q: How do I sign up to play Fortnite on mobile?
A: You can sign up at http://www.fortnite.com/mobile.

 

Q: Where can I find more information on Fortnite coming to mobile?
A: You can read more on our blog at http://www.fortnite.com/news/mobile-announce.

 

Q: When can I play Fortnite Battle Royale on my iOS device?
A: Once the event begins and you receive an invite. Invites will start rolling out soon to players who have signed up.

 

Q: Why haven't I received an invite?
A: We're sending out invites as our services scale up to handle more players with the goal of maintaining a healthy player population. Not everyone will get in at the same time. After you sign up at www.fortnite.com/mobile, you will be notified via email once you get in.

 

Q: My friend received an invite and they signed up after me, what gives?
A: Factors that contribute to the order in which players receive invites include sign-up order, proximity to a data center, and device model. If your friend got invited by Epic, check with them to see if they have a friend code to share with you.

 

Q: Is Fortnite on mobile coming to Android?
A: Yes. Android will be supported in the next few months.

 

Q: What iOS devices are compatible with Fortnite on mobile?
A: To participate, you'll need an internet connection and iOS 11 on at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices or later.

 

Q: Will Mobile players be forced to play with other platforms?
A: No. By default, mobile players are matched against mobile players only. When a mobile player joins a squad with friends on other platforms, then that squad is matchmade against a multiplatform population. Thus, cross platform play is opt in.

 

Q: I got an invite, where do i download the game?
A: In the invitation email, you will receive a link to download the game from the iOS App Store.

 

Q: Will Bluetooth controllers work?
A: Not initially. Bluetooth controller support is coming later.

 

Q: Is Save the World coming to mobile?
A: No. Save the World uses way more memory and CPU resources than Battle Royale and would be very difficult to bring to mobile devices.

 

Q: Will the game eventually be open to everyone, regardless of having an invite?
A: Yes. As soon as we are able to handle the scale of players, the game will be open to everyone.

 

Q: Will there be voice chat?
A: Not initially. Later, we plan to support voice chat.

So I've been loving the teams of 20 mode (i missed out on 50v50 mode though sadly.)

I think these large team time modes would be made even more interesting if one person on the team became the designated VIP, you fail to protect them you lose. I think it would make for some interesting fort building and some frantic gameplay as other teams try to assassinate the other teams VIP

Suggestion: All teammates should use a single randomly assigned skin for big team modes.

In the big team modes, like 50 v 50 and teams of 20, the green arrow above teammates heads just isn't noticeable enough. I think a neat bonus for the big team modes would be to open the cosmetics pool and give every player a randomly assigned skin.

  • First and foremost, it would make it much easier to identify teammates in a hectic battle. "Do they look like you? If not, blast them!"
  • Secondly, it would give players a chance to try out some skins without buying them. Maybe some players who get assigned cuddle team leader would enjoy it so much they'd decide to buy it.
  • Just imagine a hoard of Gingerbread men cresting a hill and charging your squad of teddy bears! Who wouldn't enjoy that?

At the very least, just paint the t-shirts of the default skins red, blue, green, yellow, etc... That would help. I think the prospect of extra sales would be enough to justify letting players see the premium skins for a round or two.

I've only been playing for a few days now, but I just got my first squad win! I Got carried by my 13-year-old and eight-year-old, they combined for 10 kills and I had zero. Once we won I ran to the hallway they were both coming out of their rooms I pick my oldest son up drug him to my youngest sons room and tackle them both on the bed while we screamed in happiness!!! It was so awesome and the joy we shared was equal to all the soccer games we have ever won!

Edit: thanks to everyone checking out my 13 year olds stream. I'm sure he is gonna be excited to tell me about it when I get home from work. Elisofly6 on twitch
